WEng in Complex Terrain

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I want to use WAsP or WEng for the simulation of wind flow in complex terrain in combination with the script from Bingöl, that gives corrections for lidar measurements.

I'm still thinking about which software I should buy for that case. The script mentioned above uses Wasp Engineering and not WAsP (is that right?).

So is it necessary to buy both tools or would WAsP Engineering be sufficient?

The function i need are: I want to use the script and if possible calculate the RIX (which also the script does automatically). I want to correct data measured by a Windcube lidar and (if possible) do calculations with met. mast data.

I'm looking forward to your help and comments, thanks in adcance

Hi,

- Yes it is for WAsP Engineering
- No, you do not need to buy WAsP if you will only use this script. It can work standalone on WAsP Engineering.
- Before using the script for any correction, I suggest you read our previous papers and reports on the topic. So, you can have an understanding of "till which level" the script can be used. There are limitations coming from the model used in WAsP Engineering (LINCOM).

I suggest you have a look at this article and reports before you proceed:
