  1. Dear all, I am trying to import a .XYZ roughness file in Map Editor. I have tried a direct import as well as converting it into a .MAP file in SAGA. I also downloaded the data as .GRD and tried converting it to .XYZ and to .MAP in SAGA and in GH WindFarmer. However, whatever I do I get the error "Could not open file. Reason: MyMap.OpenMapFile: Access violation at address 00492BBC in module "WAsPMapEditor10.exe". Read of address 0000013A." I would be grateful for some help on this. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be and what I could do to solve it? The method works with other files. I therefore suspect it may be a problem with file size, resolution or something along these lines.
  2. There are many possible methods of creating .MAP files in WAsP Map Editor, WindPRO, WindFarmer etc., and many sources of raw data. To the WAsP Team: Which method is recommended by the WAsP Team to WAsP Users as the most accurate method? Is freely available data, such as that from the SRTM website or that from dataforwind.com, of good enough quality or is it recommended to create terrain and roughness by hand using WAsP Map Editor? To WAsP Users: Which data sources and which methods do WAsP Users recommend from their experience? Thanks for your comments!

    Lib Interpolator

Thanks for the reply. I have contacted WAsP support and am waiting to hear from them. By the way I did do the interpolation with three stations, and just reduced to two to try and identify the problem (so I know which of the three stations is the one causing the problem, I just don't know why).

    Lib Interpolator

Dear WAsP Team and WAsP Forum Members, I am trying to use Lib Interpolator to interpolate between two weather stations, and at some locations I get unrealistic k values (=40). There doesn't seem to be an obvious reason as to why this is happening, as the LIB files from the two weather stations look fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
