Difficulty Comparing GWA Results Across Tools

Dear WAsP Support Team,

I hope you are doing well. I am currently working on verifying some academic data and grade conversions, and I’m encountering inconsistencies when comparing computations between different online GWA (General Weighted Average) tools.

To validate the results, I tested several calculators, including one from a site I frequently use for Philippine academic grading. An online GWA calculator that provides GWA, GPA and percentage conversions.

However, when I compare the results from these tools with values processed in WAsP-related workflows, the calculations do not fully align specifically when weighted inputs or multi-unit records are involved.

My questions are:

  1. Could WAsP’s handling of weighted averages differ from standard academic weighted-average calculations?
  2. Is there any known issue when using externally computed data (such as GWA values) within WAsP data processing steps?
  3. Are there recommended guidelines for ensuring consistency when importing numerical values or derived datasets?

Any advice, clarification, or documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
