Haven't seen this error message before... but I wonder if it has to do with this: If WAsP does not find an elevation or roughness contour within 20 km of a site, it can come up with a error.

This distance (calculation radius) is governed by one of the parameters in the projects "Edit project configuration…" menu. If you go to "Edit project configuration… / WAsP wind modeling / Max. interpolation radius in BZ model", you can change this radius to, say, 25,000 m or even more. Now your resource grid or wind farm will (hopefully) calculate. You could also make an elevation/roughness contour in the area where the problem is, e.g. around and close to the wind farm site. – This is what I do all the time: make a roughness / elevation line (with values 0, 0, 0) at the border of the offshore wind farm site.

Hi Niels,

Thank you for your answer.
The problem is that the project where I'm doing the calculation is at some mountains of Spain, with a contour map and a lot of height contours.
I've unistalled the current version of WAsP and re-installed a previous version, WAsP10G-SetupBuild214.zip, and calculations work perfectly.

The resource grids can be calculated with no problem.
I don't really understand the error of the last version, because the project is not situated near the sea.

Thanks
Jose

Hi Manohar, Jose,

This error is actually due to a software configuration problem. We are making a fix which should be ready next week. We can send it out to anyone who is affected, and this fix will eventually be included in an update to the software. If you're not seeing this error message, then you're not affected.

Please email me duncan(at)wasptechnical.dk or Niko niko(at)wasptechnical.dk for further assistance.

Hi Niels and Duncan,

Thank you very much for your answer.
Duncan, it'd be great if you could send the version when it's ready, I'll keep an eye at the WAsP download site.
Anyway you have my mail, josemiguel.jauregui@nayxa.com, so in case there's some news before you're planning to upload a new version in the WAsP site please let me know.

Thanks a lot to both of you,
Regards
Jose

Hi Burock82,

We have a new build of WAsP which should fix this problem. It's not public release yet but I can send a download link to you by email.

We are also trying to diagnose this problem so could you please email me the "WAsP on this computer" - report. You can get it from the Help menu of WAsP.

My email address is niko.rosvall [at] wasptechnical.dk

Cheers,
Niko

I have the same problem with "Shoreline boundary exceeded" could you send me a download link for the WAsP fix?

I am using the WAsP-10-1-ReleaseC-Build100.

Following is the Error log

Could not do all calculations for a member because ...
unable to perform all the unnecessary but possible calculations because ...
could not calculate the results for the resource grid because ...
could not perform a resource grid calculation because ...
a problem arose while calculating the grid site with co-ordinates (376150,4544950) because ...
the system reported that:
'Shoreline boundary exceeded.'

My email is gkatsoulis@terna.gr
